2020 Lacey Storm "CALM BEFORE THE Storm" Fastpitch Softball Tournament

Sunday, October 11th 2020 (12U, 16U/18U)

Tournament Information:

Lacey Storm Fastpitch Softball Organization is proud to be hosting the 2020 "Calm Before the Storm" Girl's Fastpitch Softball Tournament in Lacey Township, NJ. This tournament is a one day B/C level round robin tournament. The cost of the tournament is $350.

A 4-2-1 format will be used, providing the tournament is full, with 1 team being undefeated at the end of the tournament and receiving individual and team trophies. Full games will be played with no "Drop Dead" rule. No new inning after 1 hour 15 minutes, completing the inning unless home team is leading and at bat. MTP (Most Thunderous Player) medals will be awarded after each game.

10U, 14U teams will be hosted on Sunday, October 10th 2020

12U, 16U/18U teams will be hosted on Sunday, October 11th 2020

Online Registration:

Online Registration is a three step process:

1) Please fill out the form located at the following link and click the "Submit" button to register for this tournament.

2) Promptly mail a check or money order to:


 Lacey Storm Softball P.O. Box 1126 Forked River, NJ 08731

3) Monitor the "Registration Status" window on this page to verify that your team has been registered and your payment has been received. If your team's status shows as "Pending", we are waiting to receive payment from you. Please send a check promptly. If your team's status shows as "Registered", then we have received your payment and your team is entered in the tournament.


IMPORTANT NOTE

Placement in the tournament is based on a first come, first serve basis. Registrations will be processed in the order they are received and payment MUST be received by Lacey Storm Fastpitch Softball within two weeks to secure your place in the tournament. If payment is not received, Lacey Storm Fastpitch Softball reserves the right to cancel your registration and accept another team in your place. TOURNAMENT RULES


ASA Rules apply except as otherwise set forth.


Safety Rules as required by ASA.

  • All batting helmets must have facemasks and chin straps.

  • Helmets must be worn at all times by runners while on the field including running back to the dugout.


Courtesy Runners may be used for the catcher and pitcher at any time.

  • Courtesy Runner should be used for Catchers with 2 outs to speed up play.

  • Courtesy Runner must come from the bench or last batted out (in that order).

  • Courtesy Runner(s) must be different for pitcher and catcher within the same inning.


Pitching Distance

  • 10u = 35 feet

  • 12u = 40 feet

  • 14u/16u = 43 feet


Player Line Ups:

  • Teams may bat entire lineup, free defensive substitutions

  • A player removed from batting order, when batting entire line-up, will be counted as an out when she is due up at bat.

  • Batting Order cannot change


Game Length & Time:

  • Seven (7) Inning games (except for the 10u Division, which will be Six (6) Innings).

  • No New Inning may begin after 1 hour and 20 minutes.

  • The inning started before 1 hour 20 minutes will be completed, unless home team leads in bottom of inning.

  • International Tie Breaker will be used on all 12U, 14U, & 16U games except championships after 7th inning or Time Limit. 10U after six innings or time limit.

  • No games may end in a tie

  • Championship Games: no time limit; play out full seven (7) innings (6 for 10u).

  • Substitutions, conferences, timeouts, are allowed in the final 10 minutes.


Mercy Rule for 10U; 12U; 14U; 16U:

  • 10 runs after 4 innings; 8 runs after 5 innings


10U Division Exception Rules:

  • Six (6) Inning games.

  • Pitching Distance shall be 35 feet. Base distance shall be 60 feet.

  • Ten (10) Players in the field with Four (4) Outfielders [LF-LC-RC-RF]. No “Short Fielder” is allowed.

  • Teams may bat entire lineup, free defensive substitutions

  • No Dropped Third Strike. No “Slap” Bunting (fake then swing away or slap).

  • Runners leading cannot advance on pick off throws or overthrows (except 2nd base to 3rd base).

  • Stealing of Third (3rd) Base will be allowed. No stealing of Home or Second (2nd) is permitted.

  • Runner stealing 3rd base cannot advance Home on an overthrow to 3rd base from Catcher.

  • Please text 609 312 6411 with scores for both teams.

  • Limit of 5 runs scored per inning, Except Championship game, where there is no limit.


Home team is decided by coin flip in all games. Team traveling greatest distance will call coin flip.


There is no benefit in running up score as runs scored will not be used to determine champion.


Champions: 4-2-1 format - Undefeated team wins championship


If age division does not have 8 teams, winner will be determined by most points. Games can end in a tie.


Points are awarded as follows:

  • 3 Points for Win

  • 1 Point for Tie

  • 1 Point for Shutout

  • Forfeit games count as 7-0 score NO POINT awarded for shutout

  • Head To Head

  • Least Runs Allowed

  • Coin Flip
